Todos os motivos  do Bordado de Guimarães são muito bonitos. Mas, de todos, o meu preferido é este

Há tempos fiz um pequeno motivo, mas com linha e linho não adequados. Depois de frequentar os workshops de Bordado de Guimarães comecei a fazer um pano de tabuleiro. É um trabalho muito demorado, para se ir fazendo.
Estou a aprender imenso, descobrindo alguns truques para ultrapassar algumas imperfeições. E ainda estou no princípio! Estou a fazê-lo, intencionalmente, em cinzento (uma das 6 cores do Bordado de Guimarães) para melhor ver as imperfeições. O branco sobre branco fica muito bonito e “esconde” melhor pequenas falhas… mas a intenção é aprender e aperfeiçoar.
A while ago I made a little motif, but I’ve not used the right linen and thread. After attending the Guimaraes Embroidery workshops I started a traycloth. It’s a slow work, a real work in progress.
I’m learning a lot, finding some tricks to outdo some imperfections. And I’m still in the beginning! On purpose I’m doing it in grey (one of the 6 colours of the Guimaraes Embroidery) to notice better all the imperfections. The white on white is very very pretty and “hides” better little failures… the intent is to learn and improve.

Na verdade há uma outra versão deste motivo, menos trabalhosa mas não tão bonita – para mim, é claro! Os desenhos são os mesmo mas sem a gradinha. E era essa versão que eu iria fazer mas, por um (feliz) erro, preparei o linho com as medidas erradas e consegui ajustar o desenho introduzindo a gradinha – só isso levou-me dias e dias… mas consegui! :)
In fact there is another variant of this motif, less hard-working but not so pretty – for me, of course! The motifs are the same but without the drawn thread / overcast(ing) bars. Ant it was that variant I would do if I hadn’t made a (happy) mistake: cut the linen with a larger measure. But I’ve managed to adjust the pattern inserting the overcast bars – only this took many days… but I got it! :)
